exciting but! bittersweet

So I won’t give any specifics ,but on Friday afternoon my agent called to inform me it was btwn me and 3 actresses for a wonderful role in a new film. I had kinda let go of the film, as much as I loved the character and the story, the people involved and the writer/director…the part is sassy and fun and full of life.

That phone call was amazing and so much would change as shooting begins in my hometown actually !!!!!!!!Tuesday…on Saturday my agent called to let me know another actress got it. SHe was someone I was quite familiar with in NY even 20 years ago…we even had been compared to each other in some ways. SO funny.

I’ll let you know details when it’s shot and airing. So suffice it to say…we didn’t go to DIsneyland per se this weekend…but my emotions are still riding the gamut. Overall thankful, humbled and proud to know I was so close to a player in this film..uuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..

Hope our b’day was happy, Jennifer. Sorry you didn’t get the role….please keep in mind things happen for a reason….perhaps something better will come along that you couldn’t have done because you were committed to this film….or you could be the first runner up in case the “chosen one” pulls out for any reason. I know you’re WAY WAY too young to remember all the hoopla when Judy Garland was selected for the Helen Lawson role in “Valley of the Dolls” in 1967…..then was quietly replaced by Susan Hayward…..but you’re not too young to recall when Andrew Lloyd Weber selected Patti LuPone for “Sunset Boulevard”, and then the role (not so quietly this time) went to Glenn Close!!
