FROM 8° TO 65° IN A MATTER OF HOURS

WELL WE JUST RETURNED FROM MICHIGAN AFTER 2 WEEKS OF STAYING WITH MY MOM AND DAD. WHAT A WHIRLWIND. ON CHRISTMAS EVE WE HAD 38 SIBLINGS AND THEIR KIDS IN MY PARENTS HOME. TALK ABOUT LOUD!! EVERYONE LOVED HARRISON AND HE WAS NOT SHY AT ALL. HE LOVED THE SNOW THE MOMENT WE GOT OFF THE PLANE AT 1100 PM. OUR CONNECTING FLIGHT IN DETROIT WAS DELAYED, AND THAN TOOK OFF, BECAUSE OF A BLIZZARD IN GRAND RAPIDS, MICH, BUT THANKFULLY WE FINALLY LEFT…AND FOUND OUT ALL FLIGHTS AFTER THAT WERE CANCELED .

HARRISON WENT SLEDDING, THREW SNOWBALLS, THREW HIMSELF IN THE SNOW, ROLLED IN IT, DANCED IN IT, MADE SNOW ANGELS AND NEVER SAID HE WAS COLD. I TOOK VIDEOS AND WATCHED FROM THE WINDOW… A LOT… SINCE IT WAS MOSTLY THE GUYS OUT THERE. AND I GOT THE COLD/FLU HE CAUGHT AT SCHOOL, TIM SUBSEQUENTLY GOT IT, AND MY DAD AND SISTER,ETC…

BUT WE SURVIVED AND HAD FUN. MY DAD AND HARRISON BECAME POWER RANGER PALS, AND WITH MY MOM HE IMPRESSED HER WITH HIS ARTISTIC SKILLS AT 5 YEARS OLD…ALSO MY DAD COACHED HIM IN BASKETBALL AND HE LOVED DRIBBLING 75 ON THE RIGHT AND 49 ON THE LEFT. WE WENT SWIMMING AT THE YMCA ONE COLD DAY, WE SAW ‘THE TALES OF DEVEREAUX” ..HE PUT ON A KNIGHT HELMET AND SWORD, AND IMPROVISED A BEAUTIFUL DANCE WHILE WE LISTENED TO MY NIECE SING A GORGEOUS RENDITION OF ‘O HOLY NIGHT’ ..HE OBVIOUSLY TOOK IT LITERALLY, AS IT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE..HE TOLD ME ,’KNIGHTS DON’T USUALLY GO TO CHURCH, BUT TONIGHT IS A HOLY NIGHT…” IT WAS REALLY MOVING..HE MADE MY MOM BE AN ANGEL AND I WAS SOME KIND OF FAIRY…

WE GOT UP AT 4 30 AM EASTERN S TIME AND HE WAS IN GOOD SPIRITS..AND HE AND I FLEW BACK TOGETHER,AS TIM RETURNED TO WORK 2 DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS..AND THE GIFTS AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE ARE RIDICULOUS…YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE OUT THERE..WE CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH… WE’RE ONLY OPENING A FEW A DAY…AND WE PRETEND THEY’RE FROM SANTA RIGHT NOW..AS HE DOESN’T KNOW YOU LIKE I DO… BUT I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

God bless you all!! Happy that you’re home safe and sound and to warmer temps! So glad that everything was so magical and special for the holidays! That’s what seeing it thru a child’s eyes will do for you and you have many more years to look forward to that! He’s precious, but so are his parents and his whole extended family. You received your most precious gift when you brought your son home to CA with you!! Have a wonderful time opening a few gifts every day! How special is that??!! Love you three so much and can’t wait to see you! Wanda

Welcome home! Sounds like you had a grr888 time back home with your family back in Michigan! How special it was for all of you with Harrison, his first Christmas with your family in Michigan and with snow to boot. White Christmas for Harrison! I agree with Wanda on everything she said. I hope you and your family have a happy, healthy and blessed 2009!

Sure looks like you all had a great time! Your Mom & Dad look fabulous, as does Jody and the rest of the fam! Bet Harrison loved Jody’s dog!! Enjoy settling back into the routine of life in the new year! Love you!

I’m so glad you were able to enjoy a Michigan “White Christmas!” I had the chance to get up there the week before Christmas (Dec 16th-18th) so see some friends and get some last minute gifts for my family from Michigan (you know there are certain things you just can’t get anywhere else!)

Continue enjoying the Christmas spirit — hold on to it as long as you can! How fun to open a few presents each day for a while?!

Take care and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
    My love all of you,
    Courtney

    Hi Jen!
Brrrrr! I froze just looking at your pix! My hubby is coaching a hockey tournament Canada this month (flies into Detroit). He better wear his long underwear!
Harrison is the cutest! What a fabulous holiday you had with family and friends! Always look forward to your updates. Happy New Year!
    Love, Doreen

    Jen,

These are such great pictures of all of you!! Harrison looks like he had the best time; loved the ones of him in the snow. He is just too cute for words. So glad you had a wonderful holiday. God bless and many more for you and your whole family. xox, Pam

So, Harrison loves the snow, Jen?? Wait ’til he gets his driver’s license and then we’ll revisit his reaction!

Love that pic of the snowsuits with the faces all covered. Was it really that cold or was that an audition for a remake of that 1931 Eskimo movie, “Nanook of the North”??

Your mom looks so happy there, Jen. I hope she has been familiarizing you with the Orlons music for your next cabaret…still think you’d do a terrific “South Street”, but I’d accept “Not Me” or even “Don’t Hang Up.” Still smile when your mom knew exactly who I meant by the Orlons, while you thought I was discussing knitting fabric!!!

AAAAHhhhh those pictures are soooo cute. I’m glad you had a nice trip, although I hope you are recovering well from your illness. That’s not fun. But it looked like you, Tim, and Harrison, had a wonderful time in the snow. He looks adorable in his snow wear. Happy New Year to you and you family! God bless!

    With love,
    Amanda

    Happy New Year Jennifer!
Love your wonderful Christmas slides. Looks like you had a true old-fashioned snow-covered holiday. Especially love the pic of too-cute-to-be-true Harrison (look at those eyes) and the snowman.
Think I saw a preview of you on Nip/Tuck the other night. IF that was you I saw, you are one HILARIOUS girl, Jennifer!!! Please tell me you are NOT doing anything x-rated on this show?!
    LOL…….I think.
