like riding a bike…kinda

Well I finally drove for the first time in almost 3 years. We got up at about 5:00 AM and Tim drove to LAX airport, as he’s in Charleston, SC untill Saturday, but then I had to drive home. I immediately took the wrong turn off, but stopped and got directions. It was fun, and scary (my hives on my neck prove that) and I drove right back to Pasadena, 31 miles, and to the Rose Bowl, got out and ran around it once(3.2 miles), froze my hands off ( I didn’t realize it was only 50* at 6:30 AM…the sun was shining) and than went to the gym for weights, Whole Foods for groceries, and free snacks!!!!!!!!!! , the mall near Santa Anita Racetrack..and home in time to watch American Idol..and Pope Benedict.. great day. and no one was hurt in the writing/driving of this post

OK, my friend, should I be happy that I am not on the highways of LA, well, at least utill you get use to driving again? LOL!! It IS like riding a bike, right? Bet it felt good to go where ever you wanted and NOT have to walk!! I can just see you running the Rose Bowl too!!! Have a great time back in the drivers seat Jen! I’ll consider myself safe for now here in MA! Love ya, Wanda

Well, it is that time of day when we break for popcorn and wine. Norene is checking out your blog and relates to me your day’s activity. Then it dawns on me that the Amber Alert I read while driving on the Thruway was not a joke. It read … JENNIFER NAIMO BEHIND THE WHEEL …KEEP YOUR DISTANCE. Wow a nationwide alert, how cool is that? Hope you had fun rediscovering your driving skills. When you are comfortable enough call me and you can drive the Porsche on the race track for a real thrill!

    Hi Jen,

Hope you don’t get anymore hives the next time you are out driving. Probably saturday right? When Tim gets home.

Ok, so who do you think will win American Idol?
I think David Archuleta will win.

    Take care,
    XOXO,
    Stacey

Wow, glad you had a very eventful day. The driving may seem a bit scary, but look at all the things you did when driving there. You will get used to it again in a few days.

Ooo. I love American Idol. Who is your favorite?

    ttyl,
    A

What fun you had the other day! Don’t worry Jen, you’ll be driving with one hand before you know it :)

Do you think David has a falsetto, he could be the next “Frankie” :)

Jen Darling, as you said, it is like riding a bike. I think it is also like getting over the jet lag and used to a different time zone. Sounds like you are getting back into the SoCal rhythm. Hey, today is Saturday, he is leaving SC and he should be working his way back to you. Sorry, I could not resist. Take care and take it easy!

OK…your first time driving in almost 3 years…California no less…from LAX…and the only things that happened were a wrong turn, asking for directions & the hives?

You are AWESOME…and I hope laughing!
Have you found any pumpkin scones in CA worth eating yet? Next time in NYC…I’ll have some sent…where was that place…nothing beats NJ/NY bakeries!!

Just one suggestion, Jennifer . . .GPS! You’ll never get lost…and it’s kind of nice having someone talk to you when you’re alone in the car. It will get you where you want to go..and tell you exactly where the the closest gas stations, restaurants and malls are! Aren’t you glad you have so many friends with wisecracks and suggestions!

Wow! There must have been something in the car karma (“car-ma”? ;) ) that day… I’m back home with my folks right now in Albany, NY and THAT means driving the family car again. Heh. I only GREW UP here yet I missed one turn, took another that I thought would get me going in the right direction… and, well, before I knew it I was about a half hour out of my way! *blushes*

Hope you’re settling back in a-okay! Packy and I are the ones doing the long distance relationship now. Pretty much the DAY after I saw you for the last time at Jersey Boys my phone rang with a job offer, so I’m performing in “Carousel” here upstate until the end of May!

    **hugs!**
