Travis does Frankie

Well I made it. I took Sunday and Tuesday off from the show to fly home to LA and be with my husband,Tim…remember him? We went to a special interview…more later. I was nervous about taking the Red Eye back, One, I hate to fly. Two, it was hard to leave Tim. Three, how to rest on a plane, land at 5:00 AM and take a nap and be ready for the 2 shows. JET BLUE is the best airline. It was fun, and pretty restful, considering before we took off the pilot announced we would be going through bumpy weather ahead…(the cabin doors were already sealed, otherwise I would have run) and they give you eye shades, earplugs, lip balm and shea butter from BLISS SPA..Landed at 5:14 took LIRR to Penn then cab and in my bed at 6:30 AM till 10:30 and got ready for matinee.

I had an amazing time at home. We walked forever on the beaches in Santa Monica, and than Old Town Pasadena…had all my favorite meals..at Cheesecake Factory, than El Cholo…had enough chips, guac and nachos to fly the plane home myself on my carb intake…but worth every calorie..

Last night Travis Cloer went on for the first time as Frankie Valli. Michael Longoria did the matinĂ©e as he’s contracted to do..and does it so well..such energy and commitment..and then I kissed someone else for the evening show…lets see that’s 3 guys in one day…but Tim knows who’s the best. The whole creative team and casting team showed up to watch and support Travis and his family too. He did wonderfully and the whole cast was so enthusiastic and energized too.

Today and tomorrow we get a chance to see the final run through of the second tour of Jersey Boys..I’m going tomorrow. I loved going last year with the first tour it was fun..since I’ve never seen our show before. I hear this cast is really wonderful too..Alright off to the gym than chiropractor (which I’ve put off for over a year) but now it’s catching up with me…I’m old.

    Hi Jennifer,

Glad to hear that you got to spend a long relaxing weekend with Tim in CA. You still going to see him next week while you tape? What day are you leaving? You old…nah…only as old as you feel. Think we are about the same age.

Pete just helped me set up a myspace page. Do you have one? Kinda fun stuff. I already have Michael L. Bobby S. Taylor Sternberg(1ST TOUR)& Craig Laurie(2nd TOUR)on my friends list.

Congrats to Travis, I am sure he did a fantastic job. I have heard him sing on his myspace page….great voice. I do agree that Michael is fantastic & I love his voice( have his cd ) The creative team has done a terrific job on finding many Frankie’s…John, Michael, Christopher, Jarrod, Travis, and all of the Frankie understudies…Matt Scott & Dominic Nolfi at the top of the list.

Kids are doing well & enjoying this beautiful weather. We have a book reading in Peter’s class tomorrow and Pete is going in on monday for career day in his class. The kids have a great time with his puppets.

I’ll let you go, take care & talk to you soon.

    Love,
    Stacey

Glad you had a wonderful vacation with Tim. I love the Cheescake Factory too! The food is so good there.

Sorry the plane ride was long and you had a two show day. That is tough.

I am so happy to hear that Travis did a great job! I sent you an email about it.

Let us know how the 2nd National Tour does. I am sure they are doing great! :)

    Hey Jennifer,

When you can, let us know how the second tours preview show was/is tonight. Keep dry…here we go again. So far no leaks in the basement….keep your fingers crossed we stay dry. If I don’t talk to you before you leave Monday….have a safe trip.

    Love, Stacey

Glad you had the chance to spend time with your husband, (and had a interesting interview), but I’m also glad you’re back in NYC. My husband surprised me with a trip to NY with a friend this weekend..I hope to catch you at the stage door to tell you personally how much I’ve enjoyed “Jersey Boys.” I’ve had the opportunity to meet “the Boys”, but the girls seem to take a little longer to leave…oh, well, I guess I understand that! See you at the theatre!

That entry was so cute. I also agree JetBlue is a great airline. They got a lot of bad press with all the delays and cancellations (which I experienced first hand) but they were always friendly and accomodating and I have vouchers for the future because of the inconveniences they caused me. I’ve never taken the red eye but I oddly would like to, I’m a night owl!

I’m really glad you had a nice break at home. I can’t wait for the semester to be over and get some down time, most likely a trip to the city. Hopefully I’ll be there all summer but I need a job first, that’s kinda a necessity.

All these new JB cast members, it’s so hard to keep track of them ;) All kidding aside, it’s good to hear that the casting is continuing to be as stellar as it was with the originals! I actually am really excited about the 2nd tour.

Anywhoo… I should shut up and stop procrastinating from doing work! PS, you’re not old!

Glad you had such a good time with your husband.Cheesecake factory? Sounds like my kind of place. Don’t have one by me,is there one in New York?Been trying to come up to see the show, looks like I’m going to have to wait until the end of May.But time flies by so hopefully i’ll see you then!

I’m glad you had a great time with your husband! It’s definitely important to have off time – you work so much!

I definitely agree with you about planes – I’m taking one to NY on May 11th, and I am so scared. I used to take planes all the time, but since 9/11, I’m a little frightened. Not to mention that this is the first time I’m flying by myself.

I’m glad Travis was great! I really love his demo on his MySpace, and my friend Courtney called me during the show to let me hear how he was doing. Amazing! I hope to see him go on some time soon.

    And you are not old!

    See you soon!
