Little dude's growing up handsome.

Regarding "whatever," a word from the been-there: Those sitcoms on Disney and Nick are packed with attitude, but verbal and demeanorwise, that in the opinion of most of us parents is a touch too abrasive. Does he watch those?

Hope all's well,

Yeah, Zanna, I have a memory when I was about 6 years old or so I guess. My mother would frequently use the phrase to my aunt, "I can't stomach (him/her/entertainer/etc.)." I was visiting my two then 20ish cousins and immediately entered their home announcing, "I can't stomach you!" Needless to say, I never said that again, although it continued to be a favorite expression of my mother!

But speaking of "whatever", I recently saw the off-Broadway play "Whatever Man" written by Chris Jones' Northwestern college pal and starring their college pal Russell Koplin! Please don't tell Chris, but I still am not sure what the play was about, but whenever star Paolo Montalban said anything, my friend Russell's response was "Whatever, man!!". So waddayathink, Jen...do we have Harrison audition for the Paolo part when it hits Broadway???

Yeah, a tad bit confusing for 7 yr old. I doubt if Harrison will get the nuance. Mostly kids imitate their parents. They hear and see everything we do in the house in front of them. Every comment we make about friends, relatives, people on tv, any aside you think they don't hear. If you say one thing and do another, they notice and will bring it up later years down the road and throw it in your face. :) Try not to stress too much. I made the mistake of reacting too emotionally to my child's annoyances and he clammed up. Parenting is fun anyway, right?

Jen, "whatever" (just kidding), write more very soon!!! Ah and so it begins, all those new tests that parents have to go thru!! I laughed so hard over this, of course, I would never do that in front of Harrison. My sweet little Allura, 4 yrs old, got on the school bus the other day and said to her little buddy, "I hope you're not going to be annoying", go figure!! But I had to laugh! Have a great weekend!! "Whatever" you do! Love you & miss you lots! Wanda
